US Department of State Booklet: Being Muslim in America
About This Resource
Muslim life in America is summarized in a U.S. State Department booklet. The booklet was published by the State Department and the Bureau of International Information Programs (a State Department agency) in 2009. It includes profiles of American Muslims in various walks of life, demographic statistics, maps, a timeline, and a bibliography, in addition to many photographs. The booklet can be downloaded at the State Department website.
Another source of information on Muslim life in the United States is a volume on the Muslim journeys Bookshelf, The Columbia Sourcebook of Muslims in the United States (Edward E. Curtis IV, ed.).
